A Turlock High School student was critically injured in a stabbing on campus, carried out by another student, who is now in custody, according to the Turlock Police Department.
The male victim, whose age is unknown, was taken by air ambulance to a trauma center with multiple stab wounds. The injuries were considered life-threatening, according to the police department.

A Turlock band teacher has been arrested by the Turlock Police Department on allegations he sexually assaulted a student.
Daniel James Baudino, 38, of Turlock was taken into custody on Monday and booked into Stanislaus County Jail on five counts of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and four counts of oral copulation with a minor.

The Perfect Union cannabis dispensary located on Golden State Boulevard is experiencing slumping sales since opening a year ago, and the company hopes that the City of Turlock can make an exception in its sign ordinance to allow advertising along the busy road.
Perfect Union submitted a variance application to the City in June, requesting permission to deviate from standards set in the Turlock Municipal Code which prohibit standalone monument signs for cannabis companies. Dispensaries are only allowed to have one on-site wall sign which display only their business name.

The Turlock Police Department will roll-out a police traffic services program to deter dangerous and illegal driving behaviors that increase the risk of crashes in the community.
“Impairment, speeding and other dangerous driving behaviors jeopardize the safety of other people on the road,” said Turlock Police Lt. James Silveira. “This funding allows us to provide necessary traffic enforcement measures with the goal of reducing serious injury and fatal crashes on our roads.”

The City Council on Tuesday approved a plan which will study Turlock’s fire department deficiencies and propose the best course of action when it comes to providing safety services to the community.
According to Interim Fire Chief Michael Botto, the fire department is lacking in countless key areas, including its fleet and facilities, and with the depth of staffing in administration, fire prevention and line positions, or boots on the ground. The department is operating with an understaffed administrative team, leaving them unable to plan for the future though staff has done their best to provide quality service to the city.
