Teen suspected of human trafficking in Stanislaus County

A teen was arrested by officers with the Fresno Police Department on Oct. 15 for suspected human trafficking of a minor in Turlock, according to the Turlock Police Department.

The 16-year-old male was seen at the Fresno County Fair by officers who were aware that the teen had a Ramey Warrant for human trafficking of a minor by force, pimping and pandering.

Modesto woman arrested on suspicion of DUI after driving wrong way on Rio Del Mar Blvd off-ramp

The California Highway Patrol have arrested a 35-year-old Modesto woman who was driving the wrong way while intoxicated on Saturday afternoon.

CHP Santa Cruz said that they received multiple calls of a wrong way driver on the Rio Del Mar Boulevard off-ramp from Southbound Highway 1.

Multiple suspects arrested in connection with Merced County shooting, sheriff says

Multiple suspects have been arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide in connection with a September shooting that occurred in Merced County, according to authorities.

The Merced County Sheriff’s Office said it received assistance from the Merced Police Department, Turlock Police Department, Department of Justice, Merced County Probation and Homeland Security in executing multiple search warrants Thursday morning throughout Merced County.

Like an old friend coming back to town, a longtime favorite area pizza chain has returned to Turlock.

Oakhurst-based regional restaurant chain Pizza Factory has opened a new Stanislaus County location, some three years after its previous site in the city closed during the pandemic. The new location opened late last month in Countryside Plaza just off the Fulkerth Road exit in Turlock.

Husband, wife found dead in Turlock

 A husband and wife were found dead in Turlock late Monday night.

How the couple died is not clear at this time. 

Turlock Police Department said they responded to a report of two people dead along the 1000 block of East Springer Avenue. Arriving officers found the two people dead.

Homeless Workshop Will Spotlight Sweeps and Safe Ground

Lynelle Solomon was furious. She’d just learned that her friends Joe and Diana had been cited for illegal camping in a Modesto park. Earlier this month, The two homeless people she’d been providing food and comfort while they waited for supportive housing were told to move on at 3am after police found them sleeping in Roosevelt Park.

It didn’t matter that after seven years on the streets, Solomon had helped Joe and Diana find an apartment and they were just waiting for the paperwork to be completed. It didn’t matter that Joe was 70 years old and had stomach cancer. At 3am, the couple were forced to gather up their belongings and try to find another place to lay their heads.
