Turlock motorcyclist dies in weekend crash west of Jamestown

A Turlock man died in a motorcycle crash near Jamestown on Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 4 p.m. near the intersection where Highways 108 and 120 split west of Jamestown.

One Accused Released, Two Others Face Trial for Brutal Assault in Bar Fight

MODESTO, CA – Twin May bar fights—one female and another male victim—led to a preliminary hearing held here last week in Stanislaus County Superior Court, and in the end, one man was released and two people face trial.

Three people who were alleged to have been involved in the attack that resulted in the victim needing stitches were identified as Angelica Lopez, Arthur Peralta and Vincente Ruiz.

Patterson homeowner shoots, kills intoxicated intruder

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left a home intruder dead. 

According to officials, the homeowner shot and killed an intruder in self-defense to protect her husband, who was fighting to keep the intruder out of their home.

‘Not a homicide,’ Modesto police say of death of woman found in car in church parking lot

The death of a woman found in a car in the parking lot of a Modesto church on Saturday afternoon is “not a homicide,” a Modesto Police Department spokesman said Sunday.

It is “classified as a death investigation at this point and will stay as such unless an autopsy says otherwise,” Sgt. Kalani Souza said in a text message to The Bee on Sunday afternoon after the Police Department posted about the case on social media.

Survivor Luncheon Draws In Dozens To Celebrate

The Relay For Life of Greater Stanislaus County – which brings together teams from Modesto, Oakdale, Turlock and beyond – is scheduled at John Thurman Field in Modesto on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8 and 9.

‘Mommy, I am dying.’ Car crashes into 3 siblings walking home from school, CA cops say

When Jami Hanlin heard her three children had been hit by a car while walking home from school in Antioch, the California mom rushed to the scene.

“I just know it was like a horror scene to me,” Hanlin told KNTV after the crash Friday, Sept. 16, recalling “seeing my son covered in blood telling me, ‘Mommy, I am dying.’”
