The Turlock Police Department says the messages were found at "various households" in the northeast part of the city and cases similar to this have happened throughout California.

Modesto man clearing his gun accidentally shoots, kills his 83-year-old mother

An 83-year-old woman died after being accidentally shot by her son inside their Modesto home on Wednesday, according to police.

The incident occurred around 9 a.m. in the 300 block of Emerson Avenue, southeast of Rumble Road and McHenry Avenue.

Drunk driver arrested after crashing and injuring someone Sunday night

On Sunday, July 23rd, 2023, at 8:46 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of Lander Ave and Montana Ave, Turlock.

When units arrived on scene, they found two vehicles involved, a black 2004 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2014 Jeep Wrangler.

At least one person was injured, however, specific details were not available.

New details emerge in stabbing at Turlock High School during hearing for suspect

A judge will decide this week whether the boy accused of bringing a knife to school and stabbing a fellow Turlock High Student 22 times should be tried in juvenile or adult court.

The defense for the youth argued that there isn’t enough evidence to prove the attack was premeditated and that the boy suffered from a serious mental health disorder.

CHP: The ‘largest’ drug bust in Merced Co. history

CHP says around 1:00 p.m. a K-9 officer conducted a stop for a traffic violation northbound on Interstate 5 at the Santa Nella Scales.

Man arrested within hours of paternal kidnapping Wednesday morning

On Wednesday, July 12th, 2023, at 11:18 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported disturbance at a residence in the 700 block of E Minnesota Ave, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they contacted the caller who told them that her estranged husband, Benjamin Chipponeri, 39, of Turlock, had arrived at her residence and entered it without her permission.

Modesto cracks down on vehicle sideshows. Drivers and spectators can face these fines

New fines for people involved in vehicle sideshows won approval from the Modesto City Council.

It voted 7-0 on Tuesday, July 11, to fine drivers and passengers up to $3,500 for taking part in these displays of speed and stunts. People who organize or promote sideshows could pay as much as $3,000. Those who just watch could be fined up to $2,500.
