Teen stabbed at Turlock High

A Turlock High School student was critically injured in a stabbing on campus, carried out by another student, who is now in custody, according to the Turlock Police Department.

The male victim, whose age is unknown, was taken by air ambulance to a trauma center with multiple stab wounds. The injuries were considered life-threatening, according to the police department.

Modesto man suspected of using pepper spray to rob people at Turlock grocery stores

A Modesto man was arrested in Turlock for a series of robberies in which he used pepper spray on victims at local grocery stores, police said.

Turlock Police Department officers responded Tuesday to the 500 block of North Soderquist Road on report of a suspicious person spraying pepper spray into the air, according to a release.

Turlock band teacher charged with sexually assaulting former student

A Turlock band teacher has been arrested by the Turlock Police Department on allegations he sexually assaulted a student.

Daniel James Baudino, 38, of Turlock was taken into custody on Monday and booked into Stanislaus County Jail on five counts of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and four counts of oral copulation with a minor.

New victim in Sonora comes forward against suspected serial rapist

Another alleged victim of an accused serial rapist has come forward while he awaits trial behind bars on $1 million bail.

Joseph Frank Pineda Pimentel, 37, of Manteca, was in custody at the Dambacher Detention Center in Sonora on Wednesday when he was charged by Sonora police with a second count of forcible rape.

Pineda Pimentel was arrested by Sonora police on Sept. 7 at Adventist Health Sonora, where he works as a surgical technician, on suspicion of the same charge after DNA evidence allegedly linked him to the rape of homeless woman within the city limits on June 14.

Suspect apprehended for Turlock robberies

The Turlock Police Department has arrested a suspect believed to be behind a series of robberies at two Turlock convenience stores.

The suspect was identified as Isaac Harp, 19, of Turlock. Harp is accused of robbing the AM/PM stores located in the 100 block of E. Monte Vista Avenue and the 4700 block of N. Golden State Boulevard on multiple occasions from July to September.

The first robbery happened at 1 a.m. July 24 in the 100 block of E. Monte Vista Avenue. The clerk told officers the suspect came in with a gun in one hand and a hammer in the other. He demanded the cash from the register and the clerk complied. As the suspect ran out, he dropped the bag of money, picked it back up and then jumped over the wall that was behind the store.

Feds’ Boogaloo Indictment Details Inside of Northern California Extremist Group

TURLOCK (CBS13) – A Turlock man is accused of founding a militia-style group connected to the killing of two officers in 2020.

The so-called “California Grizzly Scouts” was part of the “Boogaloo” movement based in Northern California. Newly unsealed court documents take us inside a radical organization, one that trained for combat, and ultimately led to the alleged killing of two officers.

Hawaiian shirts and heavy tactical gear are the signature uniforms of so-called “Boogaloo” groups. They are an anti-government and anti-law enforcement movement. A Northern California Boogaloo group is tied to the shootings of a federal officer and a sheriff deputy over a one-week span in 2020.

Former Travis Air Force Base airman Steven Carillo is charged with the killings.

Police: Pair Suspected Of Stealing From Hobby Lobby Stores Across Valley

LODI (CBS13) — Detectives are asking for help in identifying a pair suspected of stealing from Hobby Lobby stores up and down the Valley.

On Monday, the Lodi Police Department released a surveillance photo of the pair after they allegedly stole multiple items from the Kettleman Lane store.

Police say the same suspects are believed to have been involved in thefts from other Hobby Lobby stores in Elk Grove, Modesto, Roseville, Stockton and Turlock.

Turlock Police Report Spike In Cars Being Left On Blocks After Rim Thefts

TURLOCK (CBS13) — Police are alerting Turlock residents about a spike in cars being left on blocks after having their rims and tires stolen.

Turlock police say that, since mid-February, they’ve fielded at least 12 reports of cars having their rims and tires stolen overnight. The victims often walk out to their vehicles, only to find them on bricks and cinder blocks.

It appears that the suspects are targeting newer-model Toyota Corollas, Camrys, and Honda Accords with stock sport rims and tires.

Police say six of the thefts have happened in apartment complex parking lots.

One suspect still at-large in shooting at Stanislaus County deputy

STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. — Officers are still looking for one suspect involved in a shooting at a Stanislaus County deputy on Wednesday night, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office said a drive-by shooting had been reported at the Four Seasons Park in Turlock shortly before 10 p.m.

A deputy spotted a vehicle that matched the description of the vehicle involved, officials said.

Someone in the suspect vehicle then opened fire on the deputy’s vehicle, leading to a short chase.

The suspect vehicle stopped on Golden State Boulevard on Turlock and three suspects inside got out and ran away, officials said.

No one was hurt in the shooting, officials said.

The search and investigation lasted for six hours, and two of the three people involved were located, police said.

Authorities are still searching for 18-year-old Ernesto Covarrubias Jr. Police are asking anyone who spots Covarrubias to contact authorities.
