PAL fundraiser set to return to Turlock Sports Park

For the second time this year, the Turlock Sports Park will be hosting a fundraiser in support of Turlock’s Police Activities League (PAL), the non-profit organization with the primary goal of promoting a constructive relationship between law enforcement and the youth of Turlock.

Like in May, the Turlock Sports Park will be putting on a three-day, multi-sport camp that allows children to be trained and cheered on by members of local law enforcement.

What was thought to be a regular day of attending classes at Cal Poly Humboldt on Sept. 1 turned into a life-threatening situation for Madelyn Vink, a Turlock native and Pitman High alumnus. 

The senior studying religious studies and sociology was hit by a vehicle on campus at the intersection of Rossow and Harpst in Arcata, California.

Stanislaus State launches fundraiser for library

A dedicated group of Stanislaus State alumni, community leaders and supporters have come together to launch a fundraising campaign in support of the newly renovated J. Burton Vasché Library.

Turlock residents John and Jeani Ferrari and Stan State alumna Marlene Stante are co-chairing the fundraising initiative, which is called “The Next Chapter.” The fundraising campaign, which officially launched on National Philanthropy Day, continues through May 1, 2022.
