Independence Day fireworks, parades, more set. Where to find them in the Modesto region

With Independence Day falling on a Thursday this year, you can celebrate on the weekends prior to and after across the Modesto region. And there’s plenty to do on the holiday itself.

A new drone show at the Stanislaus County Fair marks the holiday with a Patriotic Spectacular. A drone show also is planned as part of Turlock’s community celebration.

Start your engines for the annual 4th of July parade & car show

Modesto may be the place to be for car enthusiasts in the month of June, but come July downtown Turlock is a beacon of classic chrome for the annual 4th of July Parade and Car Show.

Applications are now being accepted for entries into the parade and car show, set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 1.

2022’s Homecoming Parade

Following the highly anticipated Harvest Bowl and Homecoming week’s dress-up days was this year’s Homecoming parade. This year’s theme was “We’ve Got the Beat,” and all the participating floats definitely did! Choir, FFA, GSA, Young Americans, NJROTC, and the classes of 2023-2026 all signed up to create their own floats.

There was also a long list of clubs and sports that signed up for walking in the parade, such as Animation Nation, Band, Girls Basketball, Cheer, Cross Country, Games Club, HOSA, HYLC, International Club, Kindness Club, Smart Start, Girls Tennis, and Water Polo.
