An investigation is underway in Turlock after an officer-involved shooting Wednesday morning.

The Turlock Police Department confirmed they were investigating the incident along the 900 block of Vermont Avenue.

Man With Battery Warrant Arrested After Resisting Officers

At about 3:28am Sunday, Turlock Police responded to a disturbance in progress at The Palms Apartments in the 1100 block of Pedras Road.

Two different callers reported hearing a woman screaming and a child crying near the A building.

Officers arrived on scene and contacted a couple. The male half had made his way across the street, while the female half was still at the apartment complex.

Modesto Police Officer Trent Kersey was planning to graduate with the other new officers on Halloween but his new son was not going to wait.

New Ceres Police officers, employees introduced

A special ceremony held Thursday evening at the Ceres Community Center saw the swearing-in of new Ceres Police officers and the promotion of a department veteran to the rank of sergeant.

The occasion also allowed Ceres Police Chief Rick Collins to introduce a number of new employees, including four dispatchers, a records clerk and a code enforcement officer.

California police officer killed a person while driving 121 mph. DA declines to file charges

Stanislaus County sheriff’s Deputy Eric Fulmer was driving 121 mph as he approached a T-intersection on a foggy morning in January 2022.

At about the same time, a Chevrolet Camaro pulled into the intersection. Fulmer braked, but it was too late. His vehicle slammed into the side of the Camaro at nearly 90 mph, killing 21-year-old Saul Betancourt.
