Modesto stabbing kills one; suspect arrested

A man was killed on Saturday evening after he was stabbed during a fight in Stanislaus County, according to the Modesto Police Department.

Police said the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Trenary Way, about a mile west of George Rogers Park.

New details emerge in stabbing at Turlock High School during hearing for suspect

A judge will decide this week whether the boy accused of bringing a knife to school and stabbing a fellow Turlock High Student 22 times should be tried in juvenile or adult court.

The defense for the youth argued that there isn’t enough evidence to prove the attack was premeditated and that the boy suffered from a serious mental health disorder.

Family, friends gather to remember teen killed in stabbing

The gathering that brought Dylan Dooling’s family and friends together to reflect on his achievements and character should’ve been a graduation party. Instead, it was a vigil that brought them all together in a shared grief as they grapple with the violent act that took his life. 

Around 10:45 p.m. on June 2, Dooling and his girlfriend were leaving a house party in the 2000 block of N. Daubenberger Road when they were confronted by a group of males, possibly three, and a physical fight broke out.

Turlock teen killed in stabbing while leaving house party, police say

A 17-year-old was killed in a stabbing while leaving a house party late Friday night, Turlock Police say.

Friends of the teen called 911 around 10:46 p.m. Friday and told police that someone had been stabbed in the 2000 block of Daubenberger Road. When officers got to the area, they found the 17-year-old on the sidewalk and began administering CPR.

Two of three suspects in fatal Turlock stabbing now in custody

On Monday, hours after identifying two additional suspects in a fatal stabbing that occurred early Friday, Turlock police had one of them in custody.

One of the three suspects, Manuel Maldonado, 29, of Turlock, had been captured Friday. Midafternoon Monday, police said in a news release that they’d identified the two other men involved as Alfonso Garcia, 23, and David Rivera Cruz, 30, both of Turlock.

1 arrested, 2 wanted for deadly stabbing in Turlock

TURLOCK, Calif. — One man has been arrested and two others remain wanted after police say they stabbed and killed a man in Turlock.

Police were called to the area of Lander and Bernell Avenues Friday morning. When they arrived, a 28-year-old man was found stabbed, he was rushed to the hospital where he later died.

Turlock Police: Boy told homeless man to leave park, then stabbed him

TURLOCK, Calif. (KTXL) — Police said a homeless man was stabbed Tuesday afternoon in a Turlock park by a boy who now faces attempted homicide and hate crime charges.

Around 3 p.m., officers were called to Columbia Park and found the homeless man with stab wounds nearby, Turlock police reported.

Modesto PD investigate after possible stabbing leaves man with facial wounds

Police are investigating after a man was found with possible stab wounds to the head and face in Modesto on Sunday.

The Modesto Police Department said a Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputy found the man with facial wounds around 11:45 a.m. in the 100 block of Calaveras Avenue.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital and underwent surgery for fractures and possible stab wounds, police said.

Suspect information is unknown.
