Stanislaus County Deputies Arrest and Shoot Crime Spree Suspect; Condition Now Stable

43-year-old Jason Dingler, from Merced County, was shot in a high-speed pursuit with police from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office. His condition is now stable.

Prior to the chase, Dingler committed multiple crimes including a home invasion, carjacking, stealing a firearm, and liquor theft.

Third suspect arrested in Modesto armed robbery, police report

The third and final suspect in a Modesto robbery on Monday was identified and arrested Tuesday afternoon, police reported.

Leland Lennear, 26, of Modesto faces charges of robbery, hit-an-run and criminal conspiracy, Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Sharon Bear said.

Turlock teen last seen in company of sexual assault suspect

Local law enforcement is seeking the public’s help in finding a missing Turlock teenager last seen with a suspected sexual predator.

The California Highway Patrol issued an Emergency Missing Advisory on Tuesday afternoon for 16-year-old Monica Ascensio. The advisory was issued out of concern for her safety.

UPDATE: Arson suspect identified in Turlock fire that damages duplex, displaces residents.

A fire Sunday night damaged a duplex in Turlock and led to the arrest of one person allegedly connected with the fire, authorities said.

Turlock police said that Santiago Estorga Oheda was arrested on suspicion of arson. Police said Oheda, who is in his early 30s, knew some people who were living in the duplex, including his former girlfriend.

Oheda was in Stanislaus County jail with bail set at $985,000.

Unfolding Tragedy: Fatal Alameda County Crash Points to Suspects in Manteca Murder

Police suspect that the deaths of two men in a fiery car crash in Alameda County may be connected to the killing of a woman in Manteca. The sequence of violent events began on Sunday evening when a woman was shot outside a strip mall on West Yosemite Avenue in Manteca. Law enforcement arrived at the scene around 10 p.m. and found the injured woman seeking help in one of the businesses.

Human trafficking suspect arrested at Ceres motel

A Patterson man previously arrested in Turlock for human trafficking was apprehended again on June 6 – this time in Ceres – for allegedly trafficking the same victim, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect, Alex Santana, 24, was in possession of a loaded firearm when he was arrested outside a Ceres motel. He made an attempt to flee from detectives but was quickly apprehended after his shoe fell off.

Woman, suspected of car theft, is arrested after 80-mph pursuit in Stanislaus County

Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputies pursued a suspected stolen car Saturday on East Keyes Road, with the chase ending in a crash north of Turlock.

During the 3 p.m. pursuit, the woman driving a suspected stolen vehicle drove east at 80 mph and ran stop signs on Keyes Road as she was pursued by two deputies, Sgt. Leland Lawson said.

Suspect arrested in Turlock homicide case. Victim’s mother said it’s his childhood friend

A suspect in Patterson resident Romeo Xavier Portillo’s homicide case was arrested last week in Georgia, the Turlock Police Department announced in a news release Thursday. Portillo’s mother, Sharon Threadgill, said the suspect was a friend and came to her home multiple times after the shooting.

Gary Harold Jackson Jr., 22, was arrested in Georgia by the Cobb County Police Department, according to the release.

Turlock police arrest suspect in armed robbery of gas station

Turlock police have arrested a suspect in an armed robbery of a gas station in November. The robbery was at the Chevron on East Glenwood Avenue the night of Nov. 23, according to a Turlock Police Department press release. The suspect threatened an employee with a gun, took cash and ran to a waiting getaway vehicle.

40-year-old man wanted for killing his relative, another person in Hilmar

Two people were murdered in Hilmar on Tuesday night and now there's an urgent search for the suspect."This is the last thing you expect to come out of this community.

It's a very tight knit community," Merced County Sheriff's Office Public Relations Coordinator Michelle Oliver said.
